Talent Network Overview

The Talent Network feature makes it easy for external partners and freelancers to join your Kantata OX account and expand your resource pool, increase visibility into your entire talent network, and confidently deliver projects with external members.

A talent network consists of three key parts:

  • External Partner—The company that provides another company with employees to participate in their account and work on current and/or future projects.
  • Client—The company that receives the employees that will participate in their account and work on current and/or future projects.
  • External Member—The employee being provided to participate in the Client’s account, resource planning, and project completion.

When you invite an external partner to join your network, they provide you with users that you can integrate into your projects and/or resource planning to help you complete current or future projects. Alternatively, when a client invites you to join their network as an external partner, you can provide them with employees to help them complete the projects that they need to get done.

You can give external members the option to log in to your Kantata OX account—such as if you want them to update any tasks they’re assigned to—or refrain from having them log in and simply use their profiles for planning purposes in the Resource Center.

Note: Each external member that has the Allow Login option enabled or has time logged on their behalf requires a license. You can add up to 15 external members to your Talent Network without additional licenses if they do not have time logged for them and are not allowed to log in.

To control how members interact with external members and project information, see the Access Group Set: Network Access article.

External Partners

The External Partners page shows the following information:

  • Mavenlink Account Name
  • Mavenlink Account ID
  • Date Added

To view a list of the active External Members that an External Partner has provided for you, click the partner’s Mavenlink Account Name.

To invite another External Partner to join your network, select the Invite an External Partner button.

To access the Manage External Partner page, select the Actions  icon in the Manage column. From here, you can remove the partner from your network or update partner details. If the External Partner is managed—meaning they didn't have an existing Kantata OX account when they were invited to join your network—you will also see the New External Member section, where you can quickly add an External Member for this partner.

External Members

The External Members page shows the following information:

  • Member Name
  • Role
  • Login status
  • Skills
  • Cost Rate
  • Account Permissions
  • Mavenlink Account

You can click the corresponding tabs above the external members list to view members that have Activate, Pending, or Archived statuses.

Clicking on a member’s name opens the External Member side panel where you can view member details, update their login status, add them to an access group, and more.

You’ll notice that the external member’s profile picture has a blue triangle in the bottom-left corner. This is how you can differentiate external members from other resources throughout Kantata OX. For example, each resource that displays in the Resource List in the Resource Center that has a blue triangle is an external member.

To view only External Members for a specific External Partner, select an option from the Filter by External partner drop-down.

If you decide that you no longer want an External Member to be in your network, select the checkbox for the member, and then click Archive.

To re-activate a previously archived external member, select the checkbox for the archived member under the Archived tab, and then click Activate.

Note: All new Active external members are automatically assigned the Collaborator (External) account permission level and added to the Collaborator (External) account default access group.

The Clients page shows the following information:

  • Mavenlink Account Name
  • Mavenlink Account ID
  • Date Added

If you decide that you no longer want a Client to be in your network, you can select the Actions icon in the Manage column and remove them from your network on the Manage Client page.
