Talent Network Overview

Overview

The Talent Network feature makes it easy for external partners and freelancers to join your Kantata OX account and expand your resource pool, increase visibility into your entire talent network, and confidently deliver projects with external members.

A talent network consists of three key parts:

  • External Partner—The company that provides another company with employees to participate in their account and work on current and/or future projects.
  • Client—The company that receives the employees that will participate in their account and work on current and/or future projects.
  • External Member—The employee being provided to participate in the Client’s account, resource planning, and project completion.

When you invite an external partner to join your network, they provide you with users that you can integrate into your projects and/or resource planning to help you complete current or future projects. Alternatively, when a client invites you to join their network as an external partner, you can provide them with employees to help them complete the projects that they need to get done.

You can give external members the option to log in to your Kantata OX account—such as if you want them to update any tasks they’re assigned to—or refrain from having them log in and simply use their profiles for planning purposes in the Resource Center.

Note: Each external member that has the Allow Login option enabled or has time logged on their behalf requires a license. You can add up to 15 external members to your Talent Network without additional licenses if they do not have time logged for them and are not allowed to log in.

To control how members interact with external members and project information, see the Access Group Set: Network Access article.

To access the Manage External Partner page, select the Actions  icon in the Manage column. From here, you can remove the partner from your network or update partner details. If the External Partner is managed—meaning they didn't have an existing Kantata OX account when they were invited to join your network—you will also see the New External Member section, where you can quickly add an External Member for this partner.

Clicking on a member’s name opens the External Member side panel where you can view member details, update their login status, add them to an access group, and more.

You’ll notice that the external member’s profile picture has a blue triangle in the bottom-left corner. This is how you can differentiate external members from other resources throughout Kantata OX. For example, each resource that displays in the Resource List in the Resource Center that has a blue triangle is an external member.
