Save a Baseline in Gantt

At Mavenlink, we realize that the initial scope of your project can change throughout its lifecycle. We also know that being able to quickly visualize these changes can be a valuable tool in working with team members and clients alike. That’s why we’ve given Enterprise and Premier users the ability to create an initial Baseline from the Local Gantt chart.

We recommend saving an initial Baseline at the beginning of the project in order to capture your original plan, and then creating subsequent baselines as the project progresses. These baselines can be used to compare the initial project requirements, risk, and scope to the actual workflow at any given point.
Each Baseline contains the Description, Status, Tasks, % Done, Due date, Projected Completion, and Burn Rate at the point in which you created it. Additionally, you can add annotations to make it easier to explain changes in budget or scope to your clients.

How to Save a Baseline

  1. Hover over Projects on the left-side nav bar, and select your project. If you don't see the project for which you want to manage tasks in the Recent Projects section, click All Projects and locate it in the Project List.
  2. In the project workspace, click the Gantt tab. The Local Gantt Chart opens.
  3. On the top-right of the timeline header, click Baselines and then select New Baseline in the side panel that appears. Save-Baseline-Button-2.png
